New Recording! Sonatina for Guitar and Violin

Two Pieces for Voice, Flute, and Guitar (1974), Uma Flor Quebrada and A Chácarara do Chico Bolacha (texts by Cecília Meirelles), C 81 a, and C 81 b, by Ernst Mahle
(Duas Peças para Canto, Flauta, e Violão (1974), Uma Flor Quebrada and A Chácarara do Chico Bolacha (texto Cecília Meirelles), C 81 a, and C 81 b)

These pieces are two settings of poems by Cecília Meirelles, and are in Ernst Mahle's earlier style, dating from 1974. They might be described as using both atonal and tonal elements, with tonality winning out at the end of each piece. The first setting ends clearly on the key center of A, while the second is more ambiguous, settling on a C minor triad with an added F#.

The music is engraved by Mahle himself in a set, one of the full score and a second PDF which includes the parts for flute and guitar. These are available for free download below.
